Mission Summary:
Fighting Cocks dispatched to a small farm outside of Clyo, GA, the reported crash site of an alien spacecraft engaged and downed by X-COM aircraft. Hostile aliens of the Sectoid species had established defensive positions around the farm, and a firefight commenced almost immediately, with fire team Salt suffering heavy casualties. Initial squad effectiveness was limited due to an error in the initial dispersal and a lack of adequate cover. However, once fire team Pepa and the remnants of fire team Salt secured the barn and garage and established lines of fire, the aliens' positional advantage was minimized. After fire team N cleared the farmhouse, the Fighting Cocks converged on the alien craft. With the craft's door well-defended, explosive charges were used to create a breach, and the remaining hostiles were neutralized.

Mission Summary:
Fighting Cocks dispatched to a remote patch of swampland in Richard J. Reynolds State Wildlife Refuge, where an alien craft had been detected landing. Assisted by the crew of the USS Independence, the Cocks landed undetected on the shore. With the newly acquired Thunderhawk providing aerial imagery, several hostile targets of the Snakeman species were identified and neutralized before the Cocks were detected. With excellent use of covering fire and teamwork, 11 alien hostiles were engaged and eliminated without any casualties being sustained by the Cocks.

Mission Summary:
The Battle of Memphis. Fighting Cocks scrambled to respond to alien attack on civilians in downtown Memphis and assigned to rendezvous with the Surf Boys with the objective of coordinating efforts to dismantle the blanket communications jam established by the hostile alien forces. Despite meeting stiff resistance from hostile aliens of the Floater and Sectoid species (supported by Cyberdisc heavy armored units), the Cocks reached the Surf Boys makeshift operations center, where they were briefed by Captain Jacobs on the location of the alien jamming devices.
Upon reaching 100 North Main Street, the Cocks advanced to the top floors of the building, where they encountered numerous specimens of Chryssalid -- a heretofore unknown species of alien which proved extremely dangerous in close-quarters. Following an intense room-to-room firefight, the Cocks reached the location of the jamming systems and disabled them.
After a brief rest, the Fighting Cocks also participated in the following day's cleanup action.
Special Note:
Private First Class Joseph Phillips, of the Tennessee National Guard's 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, was attached as an auxiliary squad member following the elimination of his own squad. PFC Phillips' exemplary performance under extreme conditions was integral to the success of the mission, and he is to be commended for his brave, distinguished behavior that represents the best traditions of both the Tennessee National Guard and X-COM.

Mission Summary:
Fighting Cocks, Frost Wolves, and Raging Bulls dispatched to investigate ROC Enfield after contact was lost with the base. Preliminary reports indicated a possible attack by extraterrestrial forces, with recovered video footage seeming to show a robed humanoid figure moving unaccosted amongst base personnel in the Ops Center. Working under the assumption that this robed figure (later learned to be an alien of the "Ethereal" type) had somehow psychically subdued/compromised base personnel, the Fighting Cocks were assigned the special objective of capturing the alien alive.
Initial resistance encountered by the Fighting Cocks took the form of compromised ROC Enfield base personnel, though as the Cocks proceeded through the Ops Center, ET reinforcements arrived in the form of a squad of heretofore unencountered alien types (later learned to be aliens of the Muton type, supported by a Reaper). With three squad members protecting the flank, the Fighting Cocks proceeded to the second story of the Ops Center, where the objective had surrounded itself with compromised base personnel. Having subdued the objective and sustaining heavy fire, the Cocks proceeded to the roof, where they were evacuated from the site under fire. Following the Cocks' evacuation with the objective, the Frost Wolves and Raging Bulls completed the cleanup effort.

Mission Summary:
Fighting Cocks assigned to infiltrate the command level of the ET base established in Valley Head, West Virginia, immediately prior to the commencement of the full assault, to both disrupt the ETs' ability to counter the assault as well as to secure high-value intelligence and prisoners. The breach was made through a ventilation shaft which led to what appeared to be an abandoned mine which had been converted by the alien forces to a farm. Resistance was encountered immediately in the form of Snakemen and Sectoids. All hostile contacts were eliminated.
Heavy resistance was encountered as the Cocks moved north into the power generation room. Floaters, later reinforced by a force of Muton soldiers, dealt heavy casualties to Fire Team Salt before being eliminated. At this time, a Sectoid Fleet Commander was detected attempting to escape the facility through the Fighting Cocks' breach point, but was subdued and captured. Pressing deeper into the facility, the Cocks located the base command center and eliminated the last of the ET resistance. In the process, the base commander (an Ethereal Khan) was subdued and captured.
Special Note:
The value to a combat team of having multiple highly trained field medics equipped with cutting-edge medical technology cannot be overstated. Without the ability to restore even the most gravely wounded soldiers to combat effectiveness, the Fighting Cocks' mission would have been a failure.
