Loyal (Minor): Einar would jump on a grenade if it would shield the rest of the team from harm. As a professional soldier he knows by rote that it is his job to soften the blows meant for others.

Background
A formerly retired career soldier, Einar Vassdøl is in his late thirties and has experienced quite a bit in the past few decades. From joining the norwegian army's international task force, taking parts in multiple tours to Afghanistan and Yemen as a UN peacekeeper, to marrying a relief worker colleague, Einar has always been adventurous and has always strived to meet the standards expected of today's modern soldiers.
To the men around him, Einar was always a rock. Whether under fire or accosted by a mob of angry muslims he seldom, if ever, flinched or lost his cool and this earned him the nickname "Veggen"; "The Wall". His honest demeanour and personable approach, not to mention his actual care for their lives and livelyhoods, gave Einar an edge in handling civilians under battlefield conditions, which was further honed by the numerous drills, exercises and live battlefields in which his force's main goal was to preserve lives rather than take them.
Einar is married to a norwegian relief worker and is the proud father of two pre-teen girls. Some would say he's crazy for leaving his family to join X-Com and risking his life fighting aliens, but Einar knows better. If the amoral creatures that have plagued the planet continue to act in the manner they have so far, spreading terror and kidnapping humans for god only knows what reasons, then it is impossible to consider anyone safe, even his family. X-Com needs men to fight in the Alien War, and Einar has convinced himself that it's time to take up the torch for humanity's sake.
Einar was the first casualty of Operation Roll Ride, cut down by plasma fire.
