How did you survive until now?
By not bein' stupid. My older brother, who'd been taught by dad, taught me what he could about huntin' and the like. He was always so hard on me. It's three years ago now, I guess, that he went under. Winters're fierce on the far side of the mountains, so after two years of that hell my brother decided we'd go south a ways, then across, before the next winter rolled in.
Have you been a member of the group for a long time and, if not, how did you join?
Not long, but you'd be surprised how quickly you make friends when you can bring 'em a rabbit or some deer. I've been teachin' those who've wanted to learn as best I can, 'cause the Spam is gonna run out sometime, and contrary to what you might believe, all the Twinkies expired years ago. If I can make lives easier by puttin' food on the table, then that's what I'll do. Especially for the younger ones.

Why are you a pilot?
You don't see too many other girls, or even guys really, who can do what I can. They're all so busy pickin' through the scraps of yesterday, but you know what? Those days are gone. I'm not fightin' for what was, I'm fightin' for what can be.
