What’s your name?

Me? I'm Faust. My folks're gone, now, and I never cared that much for the last name.

How did you survive until now?

Find and stick with the smart ones. I provide the charisma, they provide the logistics. It turns out to be quite beneficial, but the relationship usually isn't lasting.

Have you been a member of the group for a long time and, if not, how did you join?

Since the beginning. I told you, stick with the smart ones, right? Early on I met the Operator - anybody who can maintain a Creche has my respect, anyway. Due to various things, I signed on board as an assistant, and that's the way it's been.

How did you become an Anchor?

It only happened very recently; I was just helping out the team, and there was a...vacancy. Trust, I believe, is the word. Being emotionally stable meant that I was the bigger brother, someone that you can trust and confide in. You'd be surprised at what people tell me. But, I haven't gone back on what I tell them - they can count on me.

Why are you an Anchor?

When this whole thing started I said that I was going to find a way to survive in this world without adults. I also told myself that I wouldn't do it alone; there are other kids out there with that fear of not knowing what's going to happen that need someone.
