Background
Thiago Cabral was a decorated sniper in the Polícia Militar in Rio de Janeiro (PMERJ), a Sub-Lieutenant who had worked his way through the ranks on his skill, resolve, and bravado. But his greed got the better of him, and Thiago was caught up in a massive sting operation that had caught wind of PMERJ officers engaging in protection, bribery, and drug trafficking in the favelas that they were charged with cleaning up. Disgraced and facing a prison sentence among vengeful inmates that would know he was a cop, Thiago accepted the alternative that he was offered -- enlisting in X-Com.
