In this dark version, Jesus was not betrayed, but rather led an insurrection of slaves and other second class citizens against both the Romans and the Jewish communities, engaging in pogroms to destroy the people he viewed as his rivals. He used the old stories of the extermination Hittites and the Philistines as his excuse for the total extermination and brutal treatment of his enemies.

Death

Jesus was caught by the Roman military and executed, however his 13 Apostles escaped, and continued to wreak havoc. Despite worries of Pontius Pilate that it would do nothing to him, Jesus was crucified as per the standard bible. He cursed his followers to never gain the heaven they sought, as well as cursed the two assassins of his cult crucified with him as failures and that they would be servants of his once he Rose from the dead.

Jesus lasted 40 days and 40 nights before finally dying. His body was taken by the Romans and spirited away. He was put in cave, with a boulder rolled over it once he had been prepared for death and covered with a shroud. However, when 13 Apostles found the burial site three years later and opened it, there was nothing but the Shroud of the UnRisen Lord inside.

Use in Ravenloft

Jesus would be a major power, however, his body was torn into pieces and scattered throughout Ravenloft.

  • Heart- Makes a person completely immune to fear, but also all other emotions. The Heart looks like a human heart carved of black rock
  • Skull- The skull acts as a sage about the arcane, divine, magic, and lore of Ravenloft
  • Eyes - These eyes allow one to see evil, just whether or not a person has committed evil, not how much, nor how bad.
  • Hands - The right cures disease, however, a random person will be afflicted with the same disease. The left cures wounds, but puts the same wound on another person at random
  • Feet - The feet do nothing, despite rumors that they bring good luck.
  • Arms - The arms, again, do nothing, despite rumors that they allow someone to become a great warrior
  • Legs - Again, nothing. Rumors abound and are often more growing in each telling
  • Torso - If buried beneath a building, that building becomes very strong, multiplying the HP of the structure by 5, however, it turns it into a Major Sinkhole of Evil.

He is merely the focus of the cult, nothing more, although worship of him does grant the casting of spells.

Clerics of The Pain Lord gain the Pain or Suffering Domain, as well as becoming immune to Pain effects.
