Erurian Empire

Overview

The Erurian Empire is a loose collection of states, united by an Elected Grand Emperor. Although divided by petty squabbling the Empire is the richest and most powerful nation. It also has strong ties with the Theocracy and pays a large annual tithe to it.

Geography

With two mountain ranges and a huge forest within it's borders the Empire has access to great resources and many monsters. The one geographical discrepancy is to the south; The Wastes. This giant patch of dead and dry earth is a blight on the surrounding land, as only the toughest creatures can survive in it, and they often raid the surrounding areas for food before disappearing again.

Government

There are 6 provinces in the Empire, each of whom are led by an Elector Emperor who rules as a king, only accepting the authority of the Theocracy and the Grand Emperor above them. Whenever the old Grand Emperor dies the remaining five come together and elect a new Grand Emperor.

Laws

Each province has it's own laws, as well as several universal proclamations from the Grand Emperor.

Economy

In it's many provinces the Empire imports, produces and exports almost every product imaginable and so has powerhouse economy.

Military

Each province has it's own standing army and the northern province, Burgan, operates a line of fortresses along the northern border to stop barbarian invaders, for which is receives money and troops from the other provinces for it's troubles.

Religion

Like the Theocracy the Empire is strongly in support of the Erurian pantheon although it is more lax about heresy and heterodoxy until the Theocracy takes an interest, which is when religious fevour sweeps the country.
