Sumianon History

History

This is a brief collection of notable events from the history of Sumianon.

Pre-History

<0 After Founding: Sumianon is filled with small tribes scattered across the land, mostly nomadic with a few scattered villages.

-6 After Founding: The First Prophet Julis receives his vision from the Mighty Er, who sends him and his tribe into the harsh rocky land to the south of his homelands. They suffer great hardship from the cruel land and the vicious hydras that lived there.

0 After Founding: Julis stops his wandering and declares this spot to be the tribes new home. This is the founding of Erur and the start of the traditional calendar.

Early History

0-23AF: Julis starts a campaign to tame the mighty hydras found in the surrounding area and uses them to conquer the local tribes, spreading the word of Er as he does so.

13AF: Hazen, the First Rider finds a wounded drake at the Euras foothills and succeeds in grappling it into submission and rather than killing it he keeps it as a bodyguard and pet.

Age of Conquest

24-120AF: Julis declares it is Ers will that his people rule over the entire dominion of man, and so begins a crusade (continuing after his death in 46AF). The Godly Guard is created and together with the now largely controlled hydra population they quickly expand their territory in all directions, roughly up to Gallerea, Danatica, Bythenias and Eulana.

13-56AF: Hazen and his dragon Callon become an unstoppable team and create a small empire along the edge of the Euras mountains. In 34AF they run into another dragon and after further investigation quickly find a small brood them living in the mountaintops and starts collecting the strongest men he can to try and capture and tame as many as he can. Despite Hazens knowledge about dragons and Callons strength they have little success in their attempts.

57AF: The expanding forces of Er first encounter Hazens empire and quickly engage in a bitter war.

57-68AF: Most of Hazens empire is taken my Erurian forces but the further North they go the harder it is for their hydras and the more dragons they face. Eventually the two sides meet and form a temporary truce,
