Skyqueens

Acatoan- Acatoa is a frontier system, settled by right of conquest from numerous Guard regiments four centuries ago. It is a system with three habitable worlds on the edge of the Drusus Marches. As a result it has a high Ministronum presence to ensure that the heresy present in that region does not spread. It is also subject to frequent minor raids by Eldar reavers, which it has been unable to fully suppress.

Regiments raised from the planets fight with standard Cadian-pattern gear. Units are raised from the intra-planetary defense forces. These units are expected to maintain a rapid-strike ability to deal with the raiders. They are remarkably ineffective at this, as the Eldar are normally long gone before any reasonable response can be mounted. Some attempts at predictive psykery were attempted, but those psykers were targeted in the largest Eldar attack in recorded history. All were slain by a different subset of the foul xenos than the raiders. The Ordo Xenos launched an investigation, inducted the entire intra-planetary defense force and forbid the release of any non-Astropath psychers to the system.

The regiments are trained to operate with a local trans-atmospheric lander called the Thunderhead. This vehicle is not transported with them to their warzones, as it is effectively unique to the system. The troops fight as infantry, although they are sometimes mounted in Valkyries where available.
