Humans & Subhumans
Human
Humans (alternatively known as: old-blood humans, true men, man-things) are the last remnants of the all-powerful empires that dominated the world in the eras of the past. Since the Catastrophe, man has clung tenaciously on to survival, and has started to try and rebuild themselves in this new and strange world.
Humans are still the most populous and diverse race in the world, fractured though their society may be. They strive to build bigger and greater things, and are possessed with an inner fire that drives them to exploration, creation and success.

Dwarf
Dwarves come from D-Town, machine city of the north, where they have been since the time of the Catastrophe. Most of the automobiles and other vehicles in the world were restored in D-Town.
Dwarves are between three and four feet tall and very solidly built. A very important part of dwarf culture is the beard: only the most venerated of dwarves are permitted to grow proper beards. Young dwarves work endlessly to prove themselves master machine-smiths, working up to stubble, then to goatee, and finally to the luxurious "king beard" that can be tucked into one's belt.
The dwarves of D-Town are ruled by the Red Nine, a group of the most powerful guild-leaders in the whole city.

Treedweller
- Suggested reskins: Eladrin, Elf, Half-Elf
As nature reconquered the old empires, some men abandoned their super-science and took to living in the new forests and jungles. Over the centuries they developed their own culture and became the treedwellers. They have accepted the fact that the ancient cities are gone, and endeavour to accept nature's resurgence as the dominant force on the planet.
Treedwellers are shorter than true men, with more flexible bodies and mottled green skin. Their hair is dark, typically brown or very dark green, and most tribes wear it in dreadlocks.
Tribes from the pine forests of the north tend to have darker skin and heavier builds than tribes from the jungles of the south.

Inhumans
Dino-man
- Suggested reskins: Dragonborn, Githzerai, Halfling, Kobold, Minotaur
When the dinosaurs returned, with them came the dino-men. They are as varied as their dinosaur kin, in size and shape, but are much more intelligent. There are many varieties, but there are three main tribes present in the world.
Longhorns are stoic herbivores, typically triceratops and stegosaurus. Strong-willed and exceptionally enduring, with nomadic tendencies. Very heavily built, most taller and wider than humans. Raptors are smaller, more agile dino-men with unmatched cunning and moxie. Have reputations for being sneaky. Have a tendency to be tolerated, rather than actually liked, by the other dino-men tribes. Tyrants are the larger carnivores, such as allosaurs and tyrannosaurs, some standing up to nine feet tall. Strongest and most dangerous of all dino-men, and have a fierce sense of independence and self-confidence.

Sasquatch
- Suggested reskins: Goliath, Half-Orc, Minotaur, Shifter
After the Catastrophe, when nature went wild and reclaimed the land, the sasquatches emerged from their Pacific northwest domain in a sullen but prideful trudge. Now reasonably integrated with the rest of society, their incredible brawn serves them well. They are somewhat distrustful of super-science, due to ancestral memories of embarrassing video footage.
A typical sasquatch stands seven to eight feet tall, heavy set and covered in shaggy hair that matches the colour of the tree trunks from their native homeland. They have oversized hands and feet, and a thick brow ridge.

Vespine
- Suggested reskins: Deva, Eladrin, Gnome, Tiefling, Wilden
Insects sought to reclaim the wastelands after the Catastrophe, even though they were facing stern competition from everyone else. The vespines are the descendants of dozens of different species of insect, who managed to interbreed and mutate somehow. The possess a complex, confusing and often irritating caste system that makes little to no sense to anyone without compound eyes and a thorax.
Any single vespine can stand as short as two feet and as tall as nine, have vestigal wings, a beetle-like shell, a poisonous stinger or any number of insectoid features that may or may not fit together. Despite this extreme wealth of diversity, they consider themselves a singular race.

Nonhumans
Robot
- Suggested reskins: Shardmind, Warforged
Relics of super-science, the robots of the world are living machines that are so peculiar they cannot even be considered inhuman. They are durable, feel no pain, and can endure things which living things cannot. There are two main tribes of robot.
Butlers are former domestic robots, long since gone feral after the Catastrophe. Over the long centuries they have repaired themselves as best they can with whatever spare parts they could scavenge from old technology. Sputniks are satellites that developed intelligence and fell to earth. They make their homes in the craters they left behind, carving out homes with their powerful laser weaponry. Sputniks prefer to repair themselves with military technology, such as tanks and missiles, rather than domestic appliances.
