Marpocalypse Now
Overview
Marpocalypse Now is a game run by ConfusedUs and oobey, set in a post-apocalyptic Mushroom Kingdom where Mario dropped the big bobomb and Bowser ducked and covered, leaving the kingdom a blasted landscape! Luigi is dead, Toad is blind and crippled, Bowser rules the world, and Mario and Peach lead the rebellion.
Recently, the war has escalated. Peach defected from Mario's cause, entering as a third great leader in the final war. Kamek, Bowser's mentor and the most powerful mage in the Kingdom, has joined her. Together, Peach and Kamek raided Wariocorp, Incorporated, and stole the core controller mechakoopa unit, a powerful (but strange) creature known as Ummon. Ummon is self-replicating, and can quickly field an army of lesser units.
Both Mario and Bowser have just learned of these developments: Mario is angry and disheartened, Bowser keeps to himself, as always.
Marpocalypse has recently reached a major turning point; the party has split, half following Peach, the other half staying true to Mario. You can read the original thread here.

Important Characters
Player Characters
Koopor the Magical: Once a great leader in Bowser's Magicorps, Koopor defected and joined Mario's Rebellion. A shy and unassuming koopa troopa, he agreed to join the quest for the power stars, where he proved himself a more than capable mage. However, Koopor vanished during the attack on WarioCorp, Incorporated, captured by Peach and Kamek. Koopor was mind-seeded and sent back to his allies. Koopor's demeanor was changed drastically, his stutter gone and his words carrying a sarcastic bite. His allies just ignored the change, until Rogue Guy, tired of Koopor's constant sneers and threats, smashed the back of Koopor's skull with a successful Death Attack, killing him instantly.
Kroop: A massively armored yellow paratroopa with a spiked shell, Kroop is the toughest member of the party. His fighting style focuses entirely on the defensive, causing his enemies no end of trouble. Kroop is a tough cookie, and has remained true to Mario, even in the light of Peach's defection. Kroop is currently carrying two fragments of the Power Star.
Rogue Guy: Rogue Guy is a nihilistic Shy Guy who wears black robes and carries a little mace at his side. Driven more than a little crazy at the death of most of his bretheren in the Disaster, Rogue cares for little other than his next payment. Rogue Guy, convinced her cause is futile, refused to join Peach and remained true to his employer, Mario.
Boris: Hammer Brothers are fairly standard in appearance and capabilities, but Boris is an exception. Incredibly accurate with his thrown hammers, Boris is a stalwart, faithfull troopa, who just joined Peach's cause for peace. His favored weapon is a returning hammer, crafted by Wario and gifted to him for joining the defense of WarioCorp, Incorporated.
Holy Kong: Holy shit, Holy Kong! A paladin of Mario, Holy Kong is a massive beast, dressed in armor crafted from defunct warp pipes. Constantly beating out a battle rhythym on his bongos, Holy smashes and bashes like no other. Forever true to the One True Hero, Mario, Holy Kong will stop at nothing to ensure his patron's victory.
Coobi: Coobi is an elderly mushroom folk: small, frail, and weak. At least physically. Magically, he is a very potent sorcerer with a wide range of spells useful for bolstering his allies and frying his enemies. Coobi was anxious to join the heir to the mushroom throne, Peach.
Goombor: The Goomba are a small race of intelligent fungi. As a rule, Goomba are fatalistic and loyal to a fault. Goombor, Brother of the Soil and First Goomba, is no exception. Quick, viscious, and deadly, Goombor loves nothing more than to eat of his enemies, devouring their lives and their souls. Goombor joined up with Peach, wanting revenge for the Disaster on Bowser more than anything in the world.
Ishor: The yoshi are a proud race; proud of their physical prowess, proud of their easy-going way of life, and, most importantly, proud of their patriarch, Yoshi himself. Ishor is a devoted follower of Yoshi, remaining as true to Mario as Yoshi.
