Vengeful (Major) -- Father is a douchebag. Leif does not like father figures, or fishermen. When somebody does something to piss Leif off, he goes completely out of his way to make their lives miserable.
Loyal (minor) -- Since Leif has such few friends, he is incredibly loyal to them and goes out of his way to make sure they're safe.
Outsider (minor) -- Leif is really kind of weird. If there is a normal option and the "what the fuck" weird option, guess which one he's going to take? Also he's a Viking cowboy. Who loves frogs. That means he doesn't have many friends, see above.

Background
The son of an abusive Icelandic fisherman, whose only friend was the bottle after his wife died of cancer, Leif grew up mostly a latchkey kid. Since his father was either out on the boat, or drunk, Leif's childhood was spent watching old westerns as a kid. Always wanting to be a gunslinging cowboy, his father informed him that he would never be good enough, and besides who'd ever heard of a Viking cowboy? Leif's obsession never left him though, and even in high school when all the cool kids were wearing Member's Only jackets, Leif would show up in dungarees, vest, and boots with spurs....an odd choice for a fishing village in Maryland's Eastern Shore. Having never made any friends, eventually, Leif joined the Army -- the Navy was right out, no boats like ol' Dad -- under the 18 X-ray Special Forces Direct Hire program. The program suited him pretty well, as he didn't have to be around civilians too much and many of his colleagues were gun-obsessed loners like him. Still, the bureaucracy of the Army kept him around civilians more than he preferred, making him uncomfortable, and despite his success in the military, his dad still treated him like shit any time he came home. and it didn't take long for him to be noticed by X-Com. Despite X-Com having no less bureaucracy, the secrecy and nature of the organization suited Leif much better than the army ever did.
Leif's defining characteristic is his ability to rapidly snap from one target to the next. His years of watching cowboy shows have made him lightning fast at transitioning to his pistol -- and Leif's obsession causes him to do it even when it's not entirely necessary.
Leif also likes weird things. For example, poison frogs. His pet, acquired on a fateful mission to the Amazon, is a bright blue poison dart frog named Iggy.
