A grognard is a term that has seen many uses throughout history, but in current TG parlance it means someone who has very big thoughts about games floating around in their very tiny minds. The sort of person who will tell the DM they are going to rape the party's elven cleric while she is sleeping, and would they mind rolling to see if she gets impregnated. They find great pleasure in the collective minutiae of complicated rules, especially rolling on charts and trying to inject as much "realism" into a game about wizards and owlbears.
