Personal Decorations

Individual agents who distinguish themselves are recognized by the department for their service. In addition to an agent's rank, personal decorations are used to discern the amount of experience that a given agent has in the department. When in uniform, DDA personnel are authorized to wear their awards over their left breast in accordance with the DDA Uniform Regulations Manual.

Team Decorations

Departmental field teams, including CAD Teams, are recognized separately from the agents assigned to them. This gives these organizations a sense of history since their members often rotate to other assignments, retire, or die. The individuals in these teams don't wear their team's medals, instead they are normally displayed in the team's offices as well as on their standards when in large formations.

There is an informal tradition among CAD Teams to give members who rotate or retire a framed picture of the team which also contains a ribbon rack of the team decorations that were earned during that agent's tour.

List of Medals (From junior to senior)

• Department of Dragon Affairs Service Medal: Awarded for contributing to the success of the DDA's core mission.

• Departmental Achievement Medal: For excellent performance in success of a mission.

• Departmental Commendation Medal: For superior and vital performance in success of a mission.

• Alabaster Medal: Slaying a white dragon of at least the "young" age category.

• Ebony Medal: Slaying a black dragon of at least the "young" age category.

• Jade Medal: Slaying a green dragon of at least the "young" age category.

• Azure Medal: Slaying a blue dragon of at least the "young" age category.

• Crimson Medal: Slaying a red dragon of at least the "young" age category.

• Life Saving Medal: Preventing the death of a fellow agent after they have been mortally wounded.

• Purple Heart: Suffering severe wounds in the line of duty.

• Bronze Star: For demonstrating valor above and beyond what is required for the mission.

• Silver Star: For demonstrating superior valor above and beyond what is required for the mission, and bringing great credit to the Department.

List of Devices

• Gold Star: Used to denote additional instances of an award on most medals.

• Gold Raven: Used to denote suffering critical or incapacitating wounds on a Purple Heart.
