Critical hit

A critical hit (or crit) is a prevalent feature in many combat-orientated systems. It denotes that one lucky shot that manages to really cripple your opponent. Typically to get a crit, you have to roll a natural twenty on your attack roll, or something like that.
A lot of magic items in 4th edition do extra damage on a critical hit.
