Annotated Sample Sheet

Name: Daniel Hurst Age: 16
Qualities: Football Jock [+4], Tactical Thinker [+2], Cynical Skeptic [-2]
Bonus Dice: 1
Fortune Points: 2
Ghost Points: 0
Background: Daniel is a high-school student who has not yet received the call, but he has heard the rumours and thinks it's a prank - one that he approves of. On typical schoolnights he's up late playing Halo - except when there's a big game coming up.

Name & Age

Anyone can receive the call - so long as they have a cell phone. Still, try to make a character who will not be completely out of their depth.

Qualities

Beginning characters have 6 ranks of positive Qualities, spread any way they want, and one negative attribute. Like with all PDQ games, do not go for Qualities that are either too specific (Windows Visual Basic Programmer [+2]) or not specific enough (The Best at Everything [+6]).

Characters cannot take supernatural Qualities (such as Telepathy, Pyrokinesis, Superspeed) at character creation. They can purchase them later, using Ghost Points, after spending time in the Ghostworld.

Bonus Dice

Every character starts off with one (1) bonus die. At any point they can add this bonus die to a roll of critical important to gain an extra d6. Once the die is spent, it is gone, but more can be earned or bought during the course of the game.

Fortune Points

Fortune Points are accumulated during play as rewards for successful actions and advancing the story. They can be spent on various things, as listed here.

Ghost Points

Ghost Points are like Fortune Points, but are specifically earned in the Ghostworld and have their own separate list of purchases. They are rarer, so should be spent with caution.

Background

Backgrounds can be as detailed or as sparse as you like, but should get across the character's personality. Try to avoid making characters who would be disruptive douchebags.
