Board games are a type of traditional game played on a specially-made board that governs how the game is played. Until recently, they were mostly crap. They may occasionally include specially-tailored, non-collectible card games.
There are a substantial amount of different board game categories, defined by their primary mechanics, such as role-taking, worker placement, co-op, roll-and-move, deckbuilding, and more.
