Background
One of the few female veterans of Fuerzas Especiales, the Mexican Special Forces, you would expect that Torrez has spent most of her life proving herself over, and over, and over again. Nothing could be further from the truth. An inveterate tinkerer she rarely notices when someone challenges her; she just walks right over them on her way to investigate how the clock on the other side of the room is put together. Or the twenty pounds of c-4 are wired. She knows every way to make a bomb known to mankind and several that aren't. That's what got her into trouble. Her company commander picked up one of her hand-made personal hygiene device and pressed the wrong button. Now his nickname is "Stumpy" and Vasquez needs a new job.
Fortunately for her, X-Com desperately needs people with her talent for figuring out how to make things go boom, puree, or shoot. Her talents at making devices to cut fries julienne are a bonus
